SOWBUG ROUNDUP FLY TYING CONTEST RULES

• Each person that is scheduled to tie on the floor at the event will now submit their normal three flies at check-in PLUS one additional fly to be set aside for the new Sowbug Roundup Fly Tying Contest.
• Anyone else who isn’t tying at the show may submit ONE fly to be part of the contest.
• The entrant must tie the fly submitted for judging.
• All flies MUST be tagged with the tier’s name, address, phone number, email address, and the category the fly is being submitted for and turned in at the Tier’s Check-In Table no later than 2:00pm on Friday.
• There are Six Categories to be judged:
  • Streamer
  • Dry fly
  • Wet Fly
  • Nymph
  • Youth
  • Best in Show
• You can win in only one category and Best in Show is considered a category.
• Any fly that contains insect parts (legs wings, etc.) will be eliminated from competition.
• Commercially tied patterns will not be accepted.
• The decision of the judges is final.
• The fly-tying contest committee members and judges are not eligible to participate in the contest.
• The judges for this contest are Davy Wotten, David Boyer, and Susan Parsons
• The winners will be announced, and awards will be given at the Sowbug Shindig on Friday evening.
